Ingredients:

  • Sprite (or other lemon-flavored soda) – 600 ml;
  • lime – 1 pc;
  • Lemons – 1/2 pcs.;
  • Mint (leaves) – 20 g;
  • Sugar (preferably cane) – 1 tbsp. l;
  • Ice – to taste.

Cooking method:

Mint, lime and lemon and mint rinse with cold water and dry with paper towels. Cut citrus fruits into thin half rings or quarters. The shape of the cut here does not play a fundamental role and will not affect the taste of the drink. Put chopped fruit in a container, add sugar. Cane sugar is better because it will give the finished drink caramel notes. You can use a sugar substitute.

Next, add mint leaves to the container, previously torn into pieces by hand or finely chopped with a knife. They can also be ground in a mortar to obtain juice, which can be poured over the rest of the ingredients.

Mash the mint, lemon and lime well with a fork or spoon. The most important thing is that juice stands out from them, then the finished cocktail will turn out to be more aromatic and with an even richer taste.

Divide the finished mixture into pre-washed and dry glasses or tall glasses and pour over soda. You can use not only Sprite, but also regular unflavored soda.

Transfer half of the ice cream to a blender bowl and beat it to a state of large crumbs. You can crush ice another way: crush ice cubes in a towel and beat a little with a rolling pin. Add the resulting crushed ice (about 0.75 of the volume of the glass) and whole ice cubes to the drink.

Tap water is not suitable because it can spoil the drink with an unpleasant aftertaste. Boiling water should take about two minutes, then cool and boil again. After cooling the water to room temperature, pour it into ice molds and send it to the freezer until completely solid.

Garnish the drink with whole lime slices and mint leaves. You should drink immediately after preparation, until the ice has melted. Serve the drink with a cocktail straw.
